Below are some resources that you can download and try in your parish or community:
How to start a youth group
Many parishes and communities around the Archdiocese – particularly those with pilgrims who went to WYD08 – have come back and expressed an interest in continuing the group’s meetings and activities. If you and your fellow pilgrim group leaders are interested in starting up (or reviving) a youth group in your parish but don’t know where to start, download HOW TO START A YOUTH GROUP.
With ten (10) simple questions, this resource can help you and your youth members form a purposeful and enduring youth group!
Rewired

A Catholic formation program for evangelizing young people written by the National Office for Evangelisation. It is a small group program that is designed to run over six (6) sessions for young people to learn more about what it means to be Catholic.
There is a small cost involved in purchasing the program. To find out more, visit Evangelise Australia.
Be my witnesses
A resource developed by Young Christian Workers/Young Christian Students (YCW/YCS) for parishes, communities and school groups to ensure the World Youth Day (WYD) experience lives on beyond WYD itself. It provides activities and suggestions for parishes and pilgrim groups to use after WYD. While many of the activities use the WYD experience as a focus for reflection, many of the activities could easily be adapted for groups that didn’t go to WYD.
You can download a free copy of this resource here. If you use this resource then please acknowledge YCW/YCS as the authors.
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops WYD 2002 follow up manual
This resource was developed by the United States Catholic Bishops Conference in response to WYD 2002 held in Toronto, Canada. It provides practical advice for getting a youth ministry group started in your community as well as a program of formation sessions. While some of the language used can be very American – you can easily translate the ideas into an Australian context.
