The AOY team serves the parishes, schools and communities of the Archdiocese by providing resources that encourage young people to develop their faith and live a life centred on the teachings of Christ and the Church.

What-we-do0Evangelisation and Catechesis

Archbishop’s Conversation with Young People
Held annually, this is an opportunity for Catholic secondary school leaders to hear from the Archbishop and be formed in their role as young Catholic leaders. The discussions from this day assist the Archbishop in his letter to youth at Pentecost.

Catechesis Series with the Bishops
Similar to the catechesis sessions held during WYD, these sessions assist young people in exploring the various teachings of the Catholic Church and deepening their understanding of the faith.

Mass for Tertiary Students
Held annually, this Mass is especially celebrated for all university students around Melbourne, with a chance to socialise afterwards.

An opportunity for youth leaders to enjoy dinner and a chat with other youth leaders in their region and their local bishop will be held throughout the year.

Advent Retreat
Before the year comes to a close, take time to reflect upon the year that’s been and focus on the hope that Christmas brings.
