Catechesis in the Cathedral (WYD08 one-year-anniversary)
A year out from World Youth Day 2008, hundredsofyoung people gathered at St Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday 19 July for a special Catechesis session with Fr Chris Ryan MGL.Fr Chris travelled across Australia with the World Youth Day Cross and Icon in the lead up to WYD Sydney. Matt Maher visits Melbourne during Month of Hope. (July 2009)
Sacred Heart Church (Carlton) was filled with young people from all over Melbourne (and others from as far as NSW!) for a special performance by musician Matt Maher on Sunday 5 July. Matt talked about his experiences growing up as a young Catholic, and how he found his vocation in music by singing at his local parish.
Foundations in Youth Ministry (March 2009)
The Foundations in Youth Ministry training course offers young people the theological and practical knowledge in forming and sustaining youth ministry in parishes. World Youth Day Time Capsule Ceremony (post-WYD2008 December)
On Tuesday 9 December 2008, letters, t-shirts, DVDs and photos from parish and school pilgrim groups, Archdiocesan agencies and others who participated in Days in the Dioceses (DID08) and World Youth Day (WYD) were placed into a special time capsule blessed by WYD chief pilgrim Archbishop of Melbourne Denis Hart.
